Boutonnieres

I first noticed Kang Ji Hwan because of the boutonnieres he wore in the Korean drama 'Lie to Me'. I have never liked lapel pins but his boutonnieres look pretty!

So I asked J if he would consider wearing these. He surfed the Internet to see if these could be bought and to our horror, we discovered that one of these cost $28. In a spur of a moment, I told him he's not to buy them and that I will make them for him instead. I mean, it's just a flower cut out from a felt and some sewing right? Uh, how hard can it be?? *panic sets in*

Turns out it really wasn't too difficult. Thank God!

The eventual product. Not too shabby, yeah? :) I'm quite pleased. *beam*

J has an overseas conference in September. These should go well with his black business suit. I chose blue because J will probably wear his suit jacket with jeans. Maroon because he likes that colour.

Black button sewn at the back to match the colour of his jacket.

Oops, the colour is a little off here. His jacket is black and the flower a royal blue.

Kang Ji Hwan's boutonnieres get really fanciful but I don't think I will attempt to make these! Too complicated!

I love this one! Kinda reminds me of Hello Kitty's ribbon. I don't think many men can carry this off!

Embracing messy hair

I have always wanted to bun up my hair but never knew how. My former boss used to come to work with her hair all bunned up and looking pretty. And I would think, 'God, I want to look that stylish when I'm in my 50s!'

Anyway, I rediscovered Pinterest the other day and chanced upon the sock bun. Literally, it's hair rolled into a bun using a sock! Search for 'sock bun' on Youtube and you will find many clips that show you how to do the bun.

My first attempt wasn't very good. You can see part of the black sock!

Second attempt looks better, yeah?

There's a lot of hair sticking out all over. I think with some pins, I should be able to achieve a neater look. J thinks there's nothing wrong even without pinning those strands down. Maybe it's time I learn to embrace a little messiness. :)

Beware the vanity bug!

J's spanking new Ray-ban makes me envious. If only I look good in sunnies!

In a moment of madness

So as usual I didn't know what nail colour to choose. I said pink and on went 4 different shades.

In the end, the manicurist chose this pink. (It's the one on my middle finger in the first photo.) I haven't a clue what it's called except it's very pink! And it matches the pink kate spade tote I was carrying a tad too well! Matchy matchy?

Just how juicy?

I have always wanted to wear a silver bracelet but never found one I really like. Part of this fascination with the bracelet is the fact that J has always worn one and he looks really cool! Seriously before meeting him, I have not seen a man who can carry off jewellery so well. Rings, bracelets, earrings, you name it, he wears it!

Anyway, the other night I found Juicy.

Juicy Couture to be exact.

I thought the gift box looks like a cigarette box!

Gosh, it's nice to wear something with a label that says 'petite'!

My B-Heart link charm bracelet :)

Smells like pineapple

DizzyLizzy got me this from DFS. Isn't she a gem? :)

So pretty the pink box and glass bottle, I think I love the packaging more than the scent! ;)

Resistance is futile

After one work trip to Hong Kong, the stitching near one of the handles had come undone so I sent my Beantown Charlie for repair.

The plan last night was to go collect my bag.

Cost? Zero. Repair is FOC for the first six months.

Alas, the plan went awry.

The 30% sale was not over and I left the store with 2 bags.
One contained Charlie of course but the other?

Hehe. I bought a Paley Paisley Small Natalie. :)

The colours are super cheerful!
It brightens up my bathroom just by sitting on the vanity top.

In the same paper bag as my Natalie was this tiny box.

Yes, it's jewellery.

But what?

Ta-da! I got myself a pair of Double Bow Studs.
Pretty eh? :)

If ever

we take pictures to mark our 10th wedding anniversary, I told J I'd like a picture of us like that. :)

Yellow

By the time this post appears, I've been using this for over a week!

I have for a while been eyeing this silicone iPhone 4 cover. I even asked Petals to buy it for me when she was in Bangkok. Turned out it costs 1950 baht which is about SGD82! So no, she did not get me one.

(photo from Petals)

I figure this cover will give me a better grip since it is made of rubber. My other iPhone cover which is a hard case (It's called 'Spade' and yes I like to name my things) tends to slip out of my hand quite easily.

Another reason why I like this yellow multi-coloured striped case is it matches my yellow Stevie!

The best part really is that I got it from the local kate spade store for SGD59 after a discount. Since using concierge services to buy directly from kate spade in the USA will take weeks and the online stores are selling it at $78, I thought this was a steal. ;)

The inside of the cover says 'live colorfully'. Love it! :)

A happy coincidence!

It suddenly occurred to me as I was unwrapping my latest kate spade purchase that the colours of the gift box match those of my iPhone cover!

You won't believe how these silly things make me laugh!

See?? ;)

Not that I'm ever going to carry the gift box together with my phone!

Guess what came in the post today?!

After waiting for 2 whole weeks, the parcel finally came!

Yes, it's kate spade!

*swoon*

A gift box can only mean it is a wallet of sort. :)

It's the Larabee Dot Neda!

I ordered this when it went on sale.

Polka-dot woven lining

How cute!

This is what it says on the care card. So not true for me. ;)
