So Spain won the World Cup 2010 like Paul the Octopus had predicted (and I actually woke at an unearthly hour to watch the finals) but this is my favourite player.

Mesut Ozil from Deutschland. He plays midfield and wears jersey number 8 in the World Cup.

I'm a fan of neither but I think I'll go with Paul the Octopus so Spain it shall be!

These flags are found at the side of tents, which form the cultural stalls for the Youth Olympic Village. Incidentally, it's a good thing Uruguay did not make it to the finals. At the time I took the photos, the last tent the workers had put up was Ukraine's!
