This is what I read today

Growth and success occur at some risk. Taking foolish chances is not risk, but stupidity. Risk entails a good goal, a decent chance of achieving it, and a strong dose of trust. Risk is actually necessary if we want to grow in our relationship with God. When He calls you to do something out of your comfort zone, obey at the risk of failing, while trusting Him to help you complete what He has asked you to do.

Commit everything you do to the Lord.

Petals' purchase

also came in the parcel but after a whole week, it is still sitting in my room, waiting to be claimed!

Her Cobble Hill Serena in cream is really pretty and the soft leather smells heavenly. :)

It also has the book stripe lining but in gold and cream.

Now if only Petals and I can find a time between us and arrange for a meet-up before her handbag starts to turn yellow. :P

July's parcel

This parcel came a week earlier than expected.

Under normal circumstances, I would have been jolly pleased. But some issues on the work front got me a little vexed and I did not fully appreciate the joy of this purchase. And yes, this also explains the lack of posts recently.

Anyway back to the parcel, which of course is a kate spade box.

This really is a magical purple box because it contains not one, not two but four items!

First on the list, a new black leather wallet.

I love the envelope design!

Black and white book stripe lining, how lovely!

Tag says: have courage. Oh how I need that now.

Lychee fever

July spells only one thing to me - LYCHEES!

My father told me that for seasonal fruits like lychees, the beginning and end of the harvest yield poor fruits, and July is usually the best time to buy these fruits. Well, my dad is 80 and it's hard not to believe a man whose years of life experience and wisdom far exceed mine!

The lychees seen in the picture above amount to slightly less than one kg. I had to gobble 4 or 5 before I took this photo. Yes I am greedy this way! Anyway, a kg of these cost me $6. These lychees from China are hideously green but unbelievably sweet! If you have any intention of buying some, don't waste your money on the red ones from Thailand. I swear they are more sour than lemons.
