Boutonnieres

I first noticed Kang Ji Hwan because of the boutonnieres he wore in the Korean drama 'Lie to Me'. I have never liked lapel pins but his boutonnieres look pretty!

So I asked J if he would consider wearing these. He surfed the Internet to see if these could be bought and to our horror, we discovered that one of these cost $28. In a spur of a moment, I told him he's not to buy them and that I will make them for him instead. I mean, it's just a flower cut out from a felt and some sewing right? Uh, how hard can it be?? *panic sets in*

Turns out it really wasn't too difficult. Thank God!

The eventual product. Not too shabby, yeah? :) I'm quite pleased. *beam*

J has an overseas conference in September. These should go well with his black business suit. I chose blue because J will probably wear his suit jacket with jeans. Maroon because he likes that colour.

Black button sewn at the back to match the colour of his jacket.

Oops, the colour is a little off here. His jacket is black and the flower a royal blue.

Kang Ji Hwan's boutonnieres get really fanciful but I don't think I will attempt to make these! Too complicated!

I love this one! Kinda reminds me of Hello Kitty's ribbon. I don't think many men can carry this off!

Lucky gal!

Trawling the Internet, I found the kate spade Korean website. And my oh my what interesting stuff I found!

The search/find was kind of premeditated. While watching the latest Korean drama, Queen of Reversals, on cable 2 weekends ago, I saw the female lead carrying several kate spade bags in different scenes. That got us to think that perhaps kate spade is one of the sponsors of the drama. It also sent me on a quest to spot every bag the female lead carries in each episode. When it became apparent that she got to carry at least 30 different bags for the entire drama series, I decided to check out the kate spade Korean website.

True enough! They did sponsor the drama.

Here's Taehee, the female lead, carrying a spotted haircalf madeline.

This bright yellow box-like bag is a head in the sand melinda.

On the website, they even categorise by episodes, all the kate spade bags, jewellery, clothes and shoes that she wore. What an enviable role to be cast in!

We spent New Year's Day

with this
and this!
In my attempt to get J to watch The Big Bang Theory, I bought 3 seasons of DVDs for us. It's hilarious I tell you, you've got to watch it!
The complete season 3 cost HKD239 which was less than SGD40. I thought that was a steal! :)
We spent the whole weekend watching all episodes from 3 seasons and by the time we were done, it felt like Sheldon Cooper actually exists.
And of course there's nothing like having some wine to ring in the new year. Rosemount O was recommended by Petals and we got Beckham to get us a bottle when he was at the airport. What can I say? It's not too shabby I guess but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble to get another bottle in the future since it is only sold at the airport.

Anyway, here's wishing you and me a blessed new year! :)

Sedentary lifestyle

Once in a while, we morph into couch potatoes and do a DVD marathon together. This one which we watched recently is a Korean drama called 'Pasta'. 30 episodes of food, love and laughter. What's not to like? :)
